Frequently Asked Questions
What is your address?
Our street address is:
Gateway Church
The Gateway Centre
Madford Lane
Launceston
Cornwall PL15 9TR
Where in the Gateway Centre are you?
We’re right up on the top floor (2nd floor) of the Gateway Centre. Just follow the staircase from the entrance foyer and you’ll find us in the upper room.
If stairs aren’t easy for you, no problem at all — there’s a lift available. Simply ask one of our friendly greeters when you arrive and they’ll be delighted to help you.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Where can I park my car?
We have a small on-site car park accessible from Bounsalls Lane, with 10 spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis. If these are full, don't worry, there are convenient alternatives just a short stroll away:
Westgate Street multi-storey car park (free parking on Sundays)
– just a 3-minute walk
Street parking on Madford Lane – only a 1-minute walk
I have reduced mobility, what facilities do you have?
The Gateway Centre has step-free access from the car park to the main entrance, and there’s a lift inside so you can easily reach the second floor where we gather.
If you need any help at all, there’s always a friendly face on hand. Just let us know in advance if you can, and we’ll make sure someone is available to help you when you arrive.
Our heart is that every person feels comfortable, included and completely at home.
What can I expect if I visit Gateway Church?
Come early. Our café opens at 10am - coffee is on us, and so's the community. Good conversations start before the service does.
Every week you’ll experience live worship music and an inspiring, Bible-based message in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
We encourage freedom in how you express your worship: If you’re a dancer, dance! If you love to sing, sing joyfully! Whether you raise your hands, speak in tongues, kneel, or simply sit quietly in God’s presence, you’re free to respond however the Holy Spirit leads. Take delight in the Lord, we make space for that, and we’d love you to feel completely at home.
Stay after. Head back downstairs to the café — coffee’s still on us. Pool and table football can get wonderfully competitive, and the best conversations often keep going right there. You’re always welcome to be part of it.
What time and how long is your Sunday service?
Our service starts at 10:30am and usually finishes around 12pm.
Sometimes the Holy Spirit moves in a special way and we simply stay a little longer to keep enjoying His presence together in worship. Please feel completely free to leave whenever you need to, there’s no pressure at all.
Gateway is all about the wonderful freedom Christ won for us on the cross, not rigid religion or rules.
Come as you are, stay as long as you like, and know you’re always welcome.
I'm bringing my children, what do you offer them?
Your children belong here. Children 5-11 have their own church. Teens have theirs. All volunteers are DBS-checked. Your peace of mind matters as much as your presence.
If you have babies or very young children, noise is not an issue. Whether you’re 9 weeks or 99 years old, we are all God’s children, and everyone belongs at Gateway.
Come as you are, little ones included.
Do I have to dress up?
Not at all. Jeans. Trainers. Sweats. Whatever feels right. No dress code. No judgment. Just you.
Will I be pressured to give?
We never ask for money.
A collection basket is simply passed during the service as a quiet opportunity for those who wish to give as part of their worship. Feel free to pass it along if you’d rather not: No pressure, no judgement.
You’re our guest, and we’re just glad you’re here
